Objectives & Goals

General objective:

To develop a network of researchers and experts and to facilitate them a forum of dialogue and exchange of information, experiences, projects and good practices for the technological, scientific, academic and cultural cooperation between Mexican and European Higher Education Institutions through forums, seminars and colloquiums.

Specific objectives:

• To develop networks between the European Union and Mexico, to enhance multidisciplinary cooperation.
• To boost the creation of joint projects between Mexicanists and European researchers and experts working in Centers for Mexican Studies, boosting synergies between Mexico and the European Union.
• To support the internationalization of the Mexican Higher Education Institutions, in order to promote excellence in education.

Goals of the Encuentro de Mexicanistas:

• To support the internationalization of the HEIs of Mexico
• Organization of an annual (or biennial) meeting of the members of the network on both sides of the Atlantic
• To convert the Center for Mexican Studies into a Reference Center on Mexican topics in Europe for research and cooperation projects, considering its location at the heart of the European Union and its international recognition.
• Creation of a dynamic database of the network members in Mexico and Europe
• Generation of an ongoing dialogue between researchers for the identification of joint cooperation projects on multidisciplinary topics
• Establishment of mechanisms of transcontinental mobility between researchers.
• Printing of the reports of the first meeting.
